"Seeking the face of God in everything, everyone,, all the time…this is what it means to be contemplative.” – St.Teresa of Calcutta

"I will think more of heaven then of hell for the simple reason that I am not going to hell.  I am going to heaven; and I am going to live so there can be no doubt about it."
(Father Winfrid Herbst, S.D.S. The Way To God)

Our Pride Stands In The Way of Divine Mercy

[How tragic that we allow our pride and reluctance to seek Sacramental confession separate us from Divine Mercy and eternal life.]

"Come now, let us set things right, says the Lord: Though your sins be
like scarlet, they may become white as snow; though they be crimson red, they may become white as wool. – Isaiah 1:18

Oh, how painful it is to Me that souls so seldom unite themselves with me in Holy Communion. I wait for souls, and they are indifferent toward Me. I love them tenderly and sincerely, and they distrust Me. I want to lavish My graces on them and they do not want to accept them.  They treat Me as a dead object, whereas My Heart is full of love and mercy."

(Jesus to St. Maria Faustina Kowalska – Diary of Saint Faustina 1447)

Limitless Love

"Does not God who remains in the world under the species of bread, who empties Himself to such a degree, merit a limitless love in return?"

(St. Maximilian Kolbe - St. Maximilian Kolbe and the Eucharist by Fr. Jerzy Domanski)

What God Wants

"No matter what we do, unless we do it in the love of

God, it profits us nothing.  God wants our love, He will be satisfied with nothing else…The love of our hearts is something unique, something no one else can give Him...It is Christ, whom we serve or injure in the person of our neighbor…Charity does not compel us to like people but to love them.  And love is an act of the will wishing one well…The love of God, then, and the love of our neighbor are one and the same virtue."

(Father M. Eugene Boylan – This Tremendous Lover)

Our Hidden Sins

How easy it is to become complacent and lukewarm in our Faith. From time to time, we need to  shake things up, to reignite the spark that previously fueled our love for and devotion to God. The 1200 quotations in Forgotten Truths To Set Faith Afire! - Words to Challenge, Inspire and Instruct are intended to do just that.

"Many people, I am sure, would die of shame if all of a sudden all their hidden sins were made known to those around them.  They could not stand such shame and live.  Yet God sees them always."

(Father Winfrid Herbst, S.D.S. – The Way to God)
