This Is The Truth Our Ears, Hearts and Minds Must Hear

(Photo©Michael Seagriff)

"What St. Paul taught was all the truths and precepts of Christ, even the most demanding ones, without silencing or watering down any.  He spoke of humility, of self-denial, of chastity, of detachment from earthly goods, of obedience…And he did not fear to stress that one had to choose between serving God and serving Baal, because it is not possible to serve the two together. He taught that after death all had to undergo a woeful judgment; that no one can bargain with God; that one can only expect eternal life if one has kept God’s laws; that seeking pleasures by breaking these laws one can only expect eternal damnation…Never did the Preacher of truth think he had to omit these things because  they might seem harsh to his listeners, especially in view of the corruption of the times…Since when does a doctor give useless medicine to his patients, being afraid to prescribe useful ones?"

Pope Leo XIII

What Does It Mean To Be Humble?

Let Us Adore Him!

Let us adore Jesus in our hearts, who spent 30 years out of 33 in silence; who began His public life by spending 40 days in silence; who often retired alone to spend the night on a mountain in silence.  He, who spoke with authority, now spends His earthly life in silence.  Let us adore Jesus in the Eucharistic silence.  (Blessed Teresa of Calcutta)

Become Living Love

We know how much blessing has come from the silent adoration in our churches, we know that the greatest saints and charity have been nourished by adoration of Christ, who is present, because in adoring Him they learned His love, they ate and drank His love fully and completely, and they themselves became living love.  (Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI ) [My most recent book, I Thirst For Your Love , has been awarded a Seal of Approval by the Catholic Writers Guild,  and is available here .]
