Do Not Blame God. It Was Your Own Choice

Either/Or

Your Choice

No Appeal

[Despite the false and wishful musings of some contemporary teachers and theologians, Father Herbst "got it right".] (Image Source: Wikimedia Commons ) "After death comes the particular judgment; and with the judgment comes the sentence that can never be changed.  It will either be heaven or hell…There will be no appeal…" Father Winfrid Herbst, S.D.S

Let Us Never Forget...

(Image source: Wikimedia Commons ) It costs to be a saint.   But woe to that man or woman who won't pay the price!   Let us never again forget, that only saints get into heaven!   If we really intend to get to heaven, it is high time for us to resolve to be a saint.  Rev. M. Raymond, O.C.S.O.

Why Are We Hesitant To Speak This Truth?

(Image source: Wikimedia Commons ) "The existence of hell brings home to us with terrifying clarity the fact that God is just, and that His justice is not to be separated from His mercy.   We must stress with special emphasis, however, that hell is not a blind destiny into which the sinner plunges unawares, but is his self-chosen and fully deserved portion. "   Leo Rudloff, O.S.B.

What Do You Think About?

(Image source: Wikimedia Commons ) I will think more of heaven then of hell for the simple reason that I am not going to hell.   I am going to heaven; and I am going to live so there can be no doubt about it.  Father Winfrid Herbst, S.D.S.

There Will Come A Time of Perfect Clarity

(Image source: Wikimedia Commons ) It is God, then, Who will pronounce judgment on the souls of men at the moment of death.   But, in another sense, it is men who will pass judgment on themselves.   At the moment of judgment, the soul which has left its body in death will see clearly its own merits and demerits, its own love or lack of love for God.   In a moment of blinding clarity, God will infuse this perfect self-knowledge into the soul which has left the world of time and space.   The soul will see the absolute justice of the judgment of God. In that very instant, the soul will ascend to the heights of heaven, fall to the fires of purgatory for a time, or descend forever into hell.   In that “Hour of truth” each soul will know itself perfectly and see the truth of its own judgment. Walter Farrell, O.P., S.TM. and Martin J. Healy, S.T.D.
